PROLOGUE

Zephyr…

A planet created with a population of only animals. The animals were given human speech and intelligence, yet retained their physical characteristics.  The intelligence they were blessed with gave them the power to build a civilization they can call ‘home’. Technologies that can help protect nature instead of destroying its balance. Clear crystal waters with healthy fish swimming through various coral and seaweed. The air was crisp and clean to breathe in without any toxins to worry about staining the ozone layer. Lastly, no wars were fought because of the peace between various cities throughout Zephyr. That was until…

“A planet of good Heroes!?” yelled an angry voice belonging to a wolverine with black fur that has a height of an impressive eight feet. The wolverine wore golden armor made of various metals that could effectively block sword slashes, gunshots, and various elemental attacks. The armor covered the entire body except his head and a cape that appeared to be holographic reached all the way down to the heels. If one would look closer, you could see the level of detail in the armor that resembled that of European style armor with spikes decorated around the steel collar. The greaves resembling a pair of cargo pants laced with black trimmings and ridged edges like a saw used for cutting wood. His foot armor strongly resembling a pair of ordinary boots with spiked cleats at the soles. The center of his breastplate contained a circular gemstone that glowed ivory mixed with gold, yet the wolverine’s dark red eyes were reflecting the furious emotions welding up inside.

“That is right, brother, a planet filled with good Heroes…not evil.” stated a calmer voice belonging to a swan with ivory feathers that has a height of only six feet. The swan wore lavender armor made of various metals that no weapon could penetrate. However, there were a few notable distinctions that made her outfit different from the wolverine’s armor. Her greaves were covered with a long evening gown touching the floor, made of various fabrics to withstand heat damage. Boots were replaced with short pearly white heels. Her breastplate was reduced to match her slender frame and in the center stood a diamond that was in the shape of a heart. Glittering brightly as did her gentle blue eyes.

The wolverine snarled viciously to the point where his hair stood up, “I won’t accept a planet filled with good Heroes, things were too peaceful as it is! It’s time that this planet has a legion of Villains ruining the show and make things more interesting!”

The swan frowned in anger, “Villains will only destroy the peaceful planet we’ve been blessed with, which is why I wish for good Heroes to protect it, Galactic.”

The wolverine, Galactic, unsheathed his sharp claws through his armored hands, “If you will not see things my way, Fontaine…then die!”

Galactic charged forward from where he stood and let out a fierce war cry. His speed was so impressive that if left clear after images of himself in his wake. Though as fast as he was, a ring of temporal energy suddenly sprung forth and froze his movements in place just as he reached the swan, Fontaine. His head was the only thing that was allowed to move as a deep snarl emitted from his throat. A reprimanding and stern voice spoke from behind as Galactic contemplated killing the one responsible for this.

“I wouldn’t be so brash as to attack a lady for not agreeing with your viewpoint, Galactic, and I trust you would be smart enough to not get an ‘or else’ threat at the end of this sentence. I foresee everything faster than anyone can blink, what you will do will indeed change how Zephyr will function.”

A lion with a height of seven calmly approached from behind the wolverine and placed himself next to the swan, which had let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. The lion had golden brown fur that shined brightly in the sun. His hair was dark red with two dreadlocks reaching down his tail and a beard that covered his chin completely, looking rather rugged and handsome. He was wearing a bright orange breastplate that had a carving of the astronomical symbol of the zodiac sign, Leo, made of orange citrine gemstones. Alongside a pair of greaves on his legs, covering them was a dark orange Celtic robe stretching down to the floor, as well as wearing foot armor that strongly resembled a pair of tanker boots. A cape was attached to his breastplate that displayed the astronomical symbol of planet Saturn in bold black ink, stretching itself down to his tail, which had red fur at the tip. In his hands was a battle staff that strongly resembled a set of clock arrows, both long and short hands. His eyes were the most unique about him as the pupils were brown with hints of gold as well as red.

Galactic snarled as he was still frozen in time, yet able to speak as he threatened, “Here’s an ‘or else’ statement from me, Hiroshi: Release me and stand down, otherwise you won’t have your spine ripped out of your back by my claws!”

The lion, Hiroshi, crossed his arms over his broad frame and snorted, “I’d love to see you perform such a feat, Galactic. You should be smart enough not to disrupt the future I’ve foreseen before this squabbling occurred. You don’t want to witness what will happen if you continue to get angry.”

The wolverine’s eyes glowed darkly with a devious smirk, “Let me guess…another war like ‘Heaven and Hell’? If that is the case, I would love to make that happen on this very planet. You are not the only one who predicts the future, Hiroshi; I have already gathered people willing to make a pact with me to make this planet full of Villains like myself, in case my original intent failed.”

Fontaine’s face turned pale when she heard this. Was her brother really planning on fighting her over some disagreement? No, she won’t believe this! She loves her brother very much; she doesn’t want to fight over something so small. Why can’t he seen things her way and be positive about it?

Hiroshi, however, frowned in displeasure, “So this is the route you plan on going down, Galactic. Time is very unforgiving; you will not like how your ambitions will end. I warn you one last time:  Don’t venture down the path of madness and destruction. The malice that is karma has already swung back at Lucifer for his betrayal and look where he and his followers are now. Do not follow his example.”

That did it…

Galactic let out a fierce yell as a gold and black ethereal aura covered his body. The volume of his voice reached a high crescendo that was able to shatter the hold Hiroshi had on him to pieces, like broken glass. Hiroshi was actually livid and shocked that his time freeze spell was broken like that. There wasn’t anyone on this planet, Fontaine included, that could break his freeze spell. He was Father Time for crying out loud! Before Hiroshi could even make a growl, he was suddenly propelled across the field by subsonic punch to his chest and yelled in pain as he crashed into what appears to be a thick oak tree. Creating an indent on the wooden surface and slid to the soft grass with the feeling of his chest splitting open, even with his breastplate on to reduce the damage. That still hurt and it made him very angry. There were no words that could express his emotions.

Fontaine gasped at what happened to the friend who came to her aid. She couldn’t believe what just happened, standing in a state of shock that was reflective in her blue eyes. Galactic came in so fast that she didn’t sense it coming quick enough to even warn or defend Hiroshi. Her train of thought was soon lost as a rough hand gripped her throat tight enough that sealed the esophagus and her hoisted into the air. Her eyes caught the familiar dark red eyes that were displaying malice, anger, and malicious murder intention. The swan quivered with fear as if two claymores impaling her heart

Galactic bore his fangs hard enough the ivory bones began to throb and slowly crack as he maintained his choke hold on his sister, “There’s no one here to save you now, wretch, now make this world into a Villainy realm and I promise to make your demise quick  and – AHH!”

Flames were being blown like a stream to his midsection that forced the wolverine to release Fontaine and stagger backwards. Fontaine landed on her feet but not without staggering first. She turned around gave a soft smile.

A Eurasian bear with brown fur had stood across the grassy plain with balls of fire clenched in his hands. He was wearing bright red armor that covered most of his body except his head. His greaves resembled cargo pants and the foot armor resembling a pair of sneakers as if they are attached to the leg armor. His breastplate was made of various metals that were strongly fireproof with a carving of the astronomical symbol for the zodiac, Ares, made of ruby gemstones. Attached to his breastplate was a bright red cape that flowed down to the floor with the astronomical symbol for planet Mars in bold black ink. His eye pupils were unusually unique; one side being brown garnet, the other being ruby red.

“How dare a cur such as you strike a hand on milady?” growled the armored bear with his breath literally fiery, angered to the point where the temperatures around him and him only increased dramatically, burning anything that came into contact of his aura.

Galactic felt a burning sensation warm his ribcage and he was shocked that someone like that fool could harm him. This was an outrage! There wasn’t anyone here but Fontaine and Hiroshi who could inflict minor damage like that to him. Before he could even react to the fool that harmed him, a magnetic force was suddenly felt in the air and yells of pain could be heard. The wolverine looked forward to see the flame manipulate being lifted upward and slammed onto the ground and left an impressive indent despite his moderately slim body mass. A voice spoke from behind Galactic that he soon grown to like in an evil manner.

“How dare a whelp like you strike a blow against my superior?”

A bald eagle hovered from the ground with a magnetic barrier encasing him and helped up Galactic with the magnetism he controlled. Wearing armor like everyone else, but his nearly resembled the spiked armor worn by Galactic, except the color was teal and the newcomer worn no cape to show any form of heroics. His eyes were red like a demon that would cut through even the purest and bravest of souls, just like the one he came to assist.

Galactic looked at the eagle and he grinned evilly, “For a moment, I did not think you would show up.”

The eagle displayed a smirk of his own on his beak, “I was never the type for goodness, and the proposition you gave me was more intriguing to say the least…my superior.”

The wolverine liked the fact that he was being called ‘superior’ and it made him feel just like a superior. His wrath was not over as he noticed Fontaine helping the bear up and Hiroshi materializing into view. Hiroshi gave Galactic a glare that would have impaled him in his heart and effectively killed him, had it not been for his immortal status.

“So this is how things will go down, Galactic…you ignorant fool.” growled the now annoyed lion with gritted teeth before his eyes gave off a mysterious orange glow.

The bear stood by Fontaine and his eyes gave off a bright red glow with a swarm of fire encircling his body and a sword slowly materialized to his hands. Holding it firmly and pointed at his new adversary, the eagle, how only scoffed as his magnetic barrier cracked the ground underneath him.

Galactic unsheathed his claws as his eyes gave off a dark golden glow and his energy aura flared around him. The very air around them soon grew to be polluted with evil looming off of his body, pouring like an overflowing fountain to the soil and tainted that as well.

“Say what you want, Hiroshi, but this war…has just begun!”

This is some very nice stuff, mate.
First and foremost, the overall story kept my attention the whole way through, which is a major achievement considering me having adhd and the attention span of a mop. Bravo. XD
You had a very nice opening. It made me think of the opening of a movie where the narrator cooly paints a picture before the action starts. I pictured zooming in from outer space towards the characters on the planet.
The same goes for the closing. It was abrupt, but in a good way; meaning it left you with a taste for more as a prequel kind of story should.
Also... -Marvelous- character structure. You adequately described the character from their size and personality to the etches on their armor. You painted a nice picture. It was like looking at a movie run when I read this.
There were just a few minor things I wanted to point out; but, this is my opinion, so it's not like what I say is how it has to be...
I just noticed some of the sentence openers were a little overused. I know that I'm guilty of this myself, but you're a better writer than me, so I think you could try and mix up the openers. You have a lot of "The badger..." "The Greaves..." "The Eagle..." "The air". I think you could mix some of the sentences up to add some variety to the wording.

Aaaaand... That's about it... I enjoyed. Thanks for listening. =3

As an artist, we could learn a lot from crayons:
~Some are Sharp, some are dull,
Some are pretty, some have wierd names,
All of them are different colors,
Yet they all live together in the same box.~

Interesting story this one is, I agree with everything Mike said.

The story started out just right, by grabbing my attention. But then after a bit, it began to get repetitive. You need to use more variety when writing.

Friendship has to be a living, positive force if it is to have any value. It is only with loving friends that there is a positive, living future.
